Kingdom in the Gospels

 

Findings:

 

Kingdom of heaven is only found in the Matthew Gospel.  Kingdom of Heaven is the offer of the promised

     Messiah to rule from Temple Jerusalem.  Israel already had an earthly kingdom, now they were being

     offered a better Kingdom, a heavenly one.  They elected to keep their earthly kingdom.  The Matthew

     Gospel is written to Israel Jews in particular, hence the kingdom distinctions.  Kingdom in Matthew is

     found more than any other Gospel.

NAS Matthew 19:12 "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it."

 14 But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

 23 And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

 24 "And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

NAS Matthew 20:1 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

 21 And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left."

NAS Matthew 21:31 "Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The latter." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that the tax-gatherers and harlots will get into the kingdom of God before you.

 43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and be given to a nation producing the fruit of it.

NAS Matthew 22:2 "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king, who gave a wedding feast for his son.

NAS Matthew 23:13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

NAS Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.

 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come.

NAS Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
