BIBLICAL CONCEPT:  Judas Iscariot

1)  The name Judas means “praised.”  It is the Greek form of the Hebrew
     “Judah.”  Iscariot may mean “man of Kiroth” indicating his origin?

2)  Mt. 26:6-16 cp. with John 12:4-6; Judas was money motivated.

3)  Judas’ money motivation lead him to:

     a.  Lie - John 12:5.
     b.  Steal - John 12:6.
     c.  Betray - Mt. 26:10-13 cp. with 26:14-16.
     d.  Continued unbelief - Mt. 26:24; John 6:64-71.
     e.  Satanic possession - Luke 22:3-6; John 13:2; 13:27.
     f.   Sarcastic vengeance - Luke 22:47-48.
     g.  Remorse and suicide - Mt. 27:1-5.
