1)  Israel in the Hebrew text means "to strive with God." Jacob became
     Israel, see Gen. 32:28.

2)  Israel is a geographic location, the homeland of the Jewish people.
     See Gen. 15:18 and 17:8.

3)  Israel is the racial nation of the 12 sons (tribes) of Jacob.  See Gen.
     35:22-26 and 49:2.

4) Israel is an evangelist nation.  See 2 Chronicles 6:33; 7:21-22; 9:23;
    Isaiah 42:6; 49:6;  Zechariah 8:20-23 and Mark 11:17.
