Theorem.
Conclusions (from the Bible verses): God uses earthquakes to punish,
educate, evangelize, liberate, exhibit anger and wrath, and in war.
NAS 1 Kings 19:11 So He
said, "Go forth, and stand on the mountain before the LORD." And
behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the
mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD
was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the
LORD was not in the earthquake.
12 And after the
earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after
the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.

NAS Isaiah 29:6 From the
LORD of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud
noise, With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire.
(Jerusalem punishment.)
NAS Ezekiel 38:19
"And in My zeal and in My blazing wrath I declare that on
that day there will surely be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. (Great Tribulation: During Gog invasion.)
NAS Amos 1:1 The words
of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa,
which he envisioned in visions concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
NAS Zechariah 14:5 And
you will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains
will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you
fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king
of Judah. Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with
Him!
NAS Matthew 27:54 Now
the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they
saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened
and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!" (Earthquake evangelism.)
NAS Matthew 28:2 And
behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended
from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
NAS Acts 16:26 and
suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison
house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's

NAS Revelation 6:12 And
I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and
the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon
became like blood; (Tribulation, 7 seal
judgments.)
NAS Revelation 8:5 And
the angel took the censer; and he filled it with the fire of the altar and
threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and
flashes of lightning and an earthquake. (Just after the 7th seal.)
NAS Revelation 11:13 And
in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; and
seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were
terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. (Great Tribulation Jerusalem: After
the two witnesses are taken to heaven.)
19 And the temple of
God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His
temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and
an earthquake and a great hailstorm.
NAS Revelation 16:18 And
there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was
a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the
earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. (7th
bowl judgment.)
NAS Matthew 24:7
"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in
various places there will be famines and earthquakes. (Tribulation.)
NAS Mark 13:8 "For
nation will arise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be
earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These
things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. (Tribulation and global
quaking.)
NAS Luke 21:11 and there
will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there
will be terrors and great signs from heaven. (Tribulation.)
NAS Psalm 46:3 Though
its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling
pride. Selah.
NAS Psalm 60:2 Thou hast
made the land quake, Thou hast split it open; Heal its breaches, for it
totters. (God does earthquakes.)
NAS Isaiah 64:1 Oh, that
Thou wouldst rend the heavens and come down, That the mountains might
quake at Thy presence--
NAS Ezekiel 29:7
"When they took hold of you with the hand, You broke and tore all their
hands; And when they leaned on you, You broke and made all their loins
quake."
NAS Ezekiel 31:16
"I made the nations quake at the sound of its fall when I made it go down
to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all
the well-watered trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, were comforted
in the earth beneath.
NAS Amos 8:8
"Because of this will not the land quake And everyone who dwells in it
mourn? Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile, And it will be tossed
about, And subside like the Nile of Egypt. (Coming national judgment.)
NAS Nahum 1:5 Mountains
quake because of Him, And the hills dissolve; Indeed the earth is upheaved by His presence, The world and all the inhabitants
in it.
NAS Exodus 19:18 Now
Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the LORD descended upon it in fire;
and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain
quaked violently. (Quake education.)
NAS Judges 5:4
"LORD, when Thou didst go out from Seir, When
Thou didst march from the field of Edom, The earth quaked,
the heavens also dripped, Even the clouds dripped water.
5 "The mountains
quaked at the presence of the LORD, This Sinai, at the presence of the LORD,
the God of Israel. (Quake education.)
NAS 1 Samuel 14:15 And
there was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. Even
the garrison and the raiders trembled, and the earth quaked
so that it became a great trembling. (War quake.)
NAS 2 Samuel 22:8
"Then the earth shook and quaked, The foundations of heaven were trembling
And were shaken, because He was angry. (A song of David.)
NAS Psalm 18:7 Then the
earth shook and quaked; And the foundations of the mountains were trembling And
were shaken, because He was angry. (A Psalm of David.)
NAS Psalm 68:8 The earth
quaked; The heavens also dropped rain at the
presence of God; Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God, the God of
Israel. (Quake education and
confidence.)
NAS Isaiah 5:25 On this
account the anger of the LORD has burned against His people, And He has
stretched out His hand against them and struck them down, And the mountains
quaked; and their corpses lay like refuse in the middle of the streets. For all
this His anger is not spent, But His hand is still stretched out.
NAS Isaiah 64:3 When
Thou didst awesome things which we did not expect, Thou didst come down, the
mountains quaked at Thy presence.
NAS Jeremiah 49:21 The
earth has quaked at the noise of their downfall. There is an outcry! The noise
of it has been heard at the Red Sea.
NAS Habakkuk 3:10 The
mountains saw Thee and quaked; The downpour of waters swept by. The deep
uttered forth its voice, It lifted high its hands.
NAS Proverbs 30:21 Under
three things the earth quakes, And under four, it cannot bear up: (The power of
human volition? Yes.)
NAS Jeremiah 8:16 From
Dan is heard the snorting of his horses; At the sound of the neighing of his
stallions The whole land quakes; For they come and devour the land and its fulness, The city and its inhabitants.

the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His

the land quakes and writhes, For the purposes of the LORD against Babylon
