1. Vocabulary-  Mathetes from manthano = ”to learn,  be taught.” “One
    who learns from another” is a good definition.  Note Luke 6:40.

2. Disciple is a title for the 12 men chosen by Jesus to assist His earthly
    ministry - Matthew  I0:1.

3. Disciple is a general title for anyone willing to learn from Jesus - Mark
    2:15.

4. Note these other “disciples” - Mark 2:18 and John 9:28.

5. The general title “disciple” gave way to the technical term “Christian”
    (Acts 11:26) and Acts 21:16 as the last use in Scripture.
