Introduction: This Resurrection Sunday, let us consider resurrection from Jesus’ perspective.  In John 13-17, Jesus’ final theological dealing with His Disciples, there are at least 15 references (3x a chapter averaged) to His return to heaven.  The following selections from John 13-17 demonstrate Jesus’ excitement at the prospect of returning home.  It was the prospect of returning home which sustained Him; as He was soon to be arrested, tried, beaten, and crucified.  Resurrection Sunday, from the Divine

• John 13:33-36, Resurrection: a promise to follow Jesus home.

• John 14:28, Resurrection = rejoicing at Christ’s return to the Father.

• John 16:10, Resurrection = Christ’s righteous return to heaven.
