Biblical Concept: Worship

1

Observations from the evidence

Why does God desire / require worship? – Creator, jealous, anger, fear, righteousness, glory due, holy, spirit and truth, spiritual service, volitional orderliness for freewill creatures, God is involved with His creation.

Christ and the Cup = worship worthy.

Worship is a fair trade for free will.

Worship is numerously (13x) contrasted with “other” god / gods.

Other gods: a worship tool of and for fallen angels.

Angelic Conflict simplified: You will either worship God or fallen angels.

Free will does not mean total independence, God is omnipresent.   Compare Free Will Theorem and Sin, Eternity, and Free Will.

Worshipers

NAS 2 Kings 10:19 "And now, summon all the prophets of Baal, all his worshipers and all his priests; let no one be missing, for I have a great sacrifice for Baal; whoever is missing shall not live." But Jehu did it in cunning, in order that he might destroy the worshipers of Baal.

21 Then Jehu sent throughout Israel and all the worshipers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left who did not come. And when they went into the house of Baal, the house of Baal was filled from one end to the other.

22 And he said to the one who was in charge of the wardrobe, "Bring out garments for all the worshipers of Baal." So he brought out garments for them.

23 And Jehu went into the house of Baal with Jehonadab the son of Rechab; and he said to the worshipers of Baal, "Search and see that there may be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but only the worshipers of Baal."

NAS Zephaniah 3:10 "From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My worshipers, My dispersed ones, Will bring My offerings.

♠NAS John 4:23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

NAS Hebrews 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?

♠NAS Ezekiel 23:49 'And your lewdness will be requited upon you, and you will bear the penalty of worshiping your idols; thus you will know that I am the Lord God.'"

Worships

NAS Isaiah 44:15 Then it becomes something for a man to burn, so he takes one of them and warms himself; he also makes a fire to bake bread. He also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image, and falls down before it.

17 But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image. He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, "Deliver me, for thou art my god."

NAS Revelation 14:9 And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand,
