Biblical Concept: Thought, Thoughts, Thinking, Think, Thinks
Prologue:
Not directly stated in the Bible verses to follow, is humanities’ unique
position in creation, of being able to think in a self-aware manner. God, angels, and humans are self-aware
thinkers. To think is the sum of the various
parts of a human—body, soul, heart, mind, spirit, conscience, volition, etc. God has created humans to think. Not just a result, but the goal.
What will humanity do with the ability to think is one of the goals of
the Creator God. In God’s conflict with angels,
who have become evil and like to be evil, what humanity thinks during this
conflict is primary to God. So much so,
He took on humanity to add His human thoughts to the conflict equation. And not just to add, but to resolve the conflict
through His thinking. (“Hebrews 2:14 Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He
Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render
powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;”)
