Biblical Concept: The Way

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” (The Way.) (One

The Way is a summary term for the spiritual life available in Christ. (Hebrews 10:20 by a new and living

     way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,)

“the way is narrow that leads to life” (See above.)

The Way causes divisions.

John Baptist: “Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight.”

Pharisee Saul: “if he found any belonging to the Way” … “bring them bound to Jerusalem.”

“instructed in the way of the Lord” … “explained to him the way of God more accurately”

Pharisee Saul / Paul: “I persecuted this Way.”

Paul: “according to the Way which they call a sect”

Paul: “having a more exact knowledge about the Way.”

Apostle Peter: “who was I that I could stand in God's way?”

Love: “a still more excellent way.”

“turns a sinner from the error of his way”

“your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers”

“the way of the truth will be maligned”

“the way of Balaam”

“the way of righteousness”

“To guide our feet into the way of peace”

Luke 1:79 To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace." (“To guide our feet into the way of peace”)

Luke 3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight. (John Baptist: “Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight.”)

John 18:8 Jesus answered, "I told you that I am He; if therefore you seek Me, let these go their way,"

Acts 1:11 and they also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." (Second Advent sky way.)

Acts 5:20 "Go your way, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life."

Acts 5:41 So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.

Acts 8:39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing.

Acts 9:2 and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. (Pharisee Saul: “if he found any belonging to the Way” … “bring them bound to Jerusalem.”)

Acts 11:17 "If God therefore gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?" (Apostle Peter: “who was I that I could stand in God's way?”)

Acts 15:3 Therefore, being sent on their way by the church, they were passing through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and were bringing great joy to all the brethren.

Acts 15:11 "But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are."

Acts 16:17 Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, "These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation." (A slave-girl with a demon: “proclaiming to you the way of salvation”) (Over-promoting the Way.) (“Most High God” implies that there are also ‘less high gods.’) (“Most High God” versus the Triune God of the Bible.) (“Most High God” can be the chief God of any particular pantheon.)

Acts 18:25-26 25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John; 26 and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. (“instructed in the way of the Lord” … “explained to him the way of God more accurately”)

Acts 19:9 But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he withdrew from them and took away the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. (The Way causes divisions.) 

Acts 19:23 And about that time there arose no small disturbance concerning the Way. (The Way causes divisions.)

Acts 22:4 "And I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons, (Pharisee Saul / Paul: “I persecuted this Way.”)

Acts 24:14 "But this I admit to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect I do serve the God of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the Law, and that is written in the Prophets; (“according to the Way which they call a sect”)

Acts 24:22 But Felix, having a more exact knowledge about the Way, put them off, saying, "When Lysias the commander comes down, I will decide your case." (Paul: “having a more exact knowledge about the Way.”)

1 Corinthians 12:31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way. (Love: “a still more excellent way.”)

Hebrews 10:20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, (All) (The Way is a summary term for the spiritual life available in Christ.)

James 5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins. (“turns a sinner from the error of his way”)

1 Peter 1:18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, (“your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers”)

2 Peter 1:11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. (“in this way” = vv. 4-10)

2 Peter 2:2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; (“the way of the truth will be maligned”)

2 Peter 2:15 forsaking the right way they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness, (“the way of Balaam”)

2 Peter 2:21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them. (“the way of righteousness”)
