Biblical Concept: Spirit of the World
Observations:
The designers, shapers, guides of the spirit of the world are fallen angels. Thus, the spirit
of the world is adversative to God’s
design for the spirit of the world. It follows then, that an antichrist spirit is
a significant theme in the spirit of the
world.
The world (people groups, societies, nations) has a group point of view,
a group spirit, a group think.
Promotion and production of various sin is a pervasive spirit of the world. Power lust being a dominant theme.
God is allowing the spirit of the
world to run its course and will one day restore it to the status of
original creation—freewill without sin.
The spirit of the world is
anti-Jew.
Religion is a big factor in the spirit
of the world.
Christians and the spirit of the
world are adversative.
The spirit of the world is a
testament to fallen angel and fallen human freewill.
The world does not want to get along with you.
Flipping right and wrong is a major spiritual theme of the world. See: Attacking the Right and Right
and Wrong in a Nation. (This is particularly observable in this
World Wide Web freedom of information age.)
See the Addendum.
This Biblical Concepts A-Z website is an act of defiance toward the
spirit of the world.

Genesis 6:5-7 5
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that
every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He
had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 And the LORD said, "I will
blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals
to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made
them." (Nature to sin rules the world.
Note the fallen angel infiltration in the previous context. Angelic volition and human volition is a
deadly brew. Note: Jude v. 6 implies a
Divine protection from another angelic global genetic infiltration into
humanity. Fallen Angel human possession
and Fallen Angel influence on humans is the modus operandi now. See Revelation 16:14 below.)
Genesis 11:1-11, Babel.
(Nature to sin rules the world. Group
rebellious-sin-think in this context.)
Psalm 2:1-4 1 Why are the nations in an
uproar, And the peoples devising a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand, And the rulers
take counsel together Against the LORD and against His Anointed: 3 "Let us tear their fetters
apart, And cast away their cords from us!"
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. (United nations of rebellious-sin-think.)
Isaiah 24:3-6 3
The earth will be completely laid waste and completely despoiled, for the LORD
has spoken this word. 4 The
earth mourns and withers, the world
fades and withers, the exalted of the
people of the earth fade away. 5
The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws,
violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore, a curse devours the
earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of
the earth are burned, and few men are left. (Tribulation, 2nd Advent
passage. See verse 23.)
NAS Isaiah 26:9 9 At night my soul longs for Thee,
Indeed, my spirit within me seeks Thee diligently; For when the earth
experiences Thy judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
(Need to learn righteousness.) (Recall The Will of God and
Bad Events and Disaster Theorem.)
NAS John 14:17 17 that is the Spirit of
truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or
know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in
you. (Need Spirit of truth.)
NAS 1 Corinthians 2:12 12 Now we have received, not the spirit
of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know
the things freely given to us by God, (Need for Spiritual perception.)
1 John 4:1-5 1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they
are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of
God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is
from God; 3 and every spirit
that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist,
of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the
world. 4 You are from
God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in
you than he who is in the world. 5
They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. +(The world does not want to get along with
you.)
NAS Revelation 16:14 14for they are spirits of demons,
performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather
them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty. (I wonder
how often this happens in history?
Compare UN versus Israel.)
NAS Ephesians 6:11-20 11 Put on the full armor
of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the
devil. 12 For our struggle is
not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers,
against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be
able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having
girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of
righteousness, 15 and having
shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up
the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming
missiles of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition
pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with
all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening
of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in
chains; that in proclaiming it I may
speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
NAS 1 Timothy 4:7 7 But have nothing to do with worldly
fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for
the purpose of godliness; (Worldly fable
religions. See Biblical Concept: Myths.)
NAS 1 Timothy 6:20 20 O Timothy, guard what has been
entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the
opposing arguments of what is falsely called "knowledge "--
NAS 2 Timothy 2:16 16 But avoid worldly and empty
chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,
NAS Titus 2:12 12instructing us to deny
ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and
godly in the present age, (Compare Matthew 10:16 16 "Behold, I send
you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore be shrewd as serpents, and
innocent as doves.)
Jude 1:19 19
These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the
Spirit.
1 John 2:15-17 15 Do not love the world, nor the
things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not
in him. 16 For all that is in
the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful
pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing
away, and also its lusts; but the
one who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 3:1 1
See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called
children of God; and such we are. For
this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
1 John 3:13 13
Do not marvel, brethren, if the world hates you.
Isaiah 13:11 11
Thus I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their
iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud, And abase the
haughtiness of the ruthless.
Luke 12:30 30
"For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but
your Father knows that you need these things. (Things = earthly things.)

God who takes away the sin of the world!

loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil.

its deeds are evil. (The world hates Jesus.)

you are of this world, I am not of this world.
John 12:31 31
"Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world shall
be cast out.
John 14:17 17
that is the Spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know
Him, but you know Him because He
abides with you, and will be in you.
John 14:27 27
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the
world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it
be fearful.
John 14:30 30
"I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is
coming, and he has nothing in Me;
John 15:18-19 18
"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 "If you were of the world,
the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but
I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
John 16:20 20
"Truly, truly, I say to you, that you will weep and lament, but the world
will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned to joy.
(Death of Jesus = world rejoicing.)

the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the
world."
John 17:14-18 14
"I have given them Thy word; and the world has hated them, because they
are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 "I do not ask Thee to take
them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. 16
"They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 "Sanctify them in the
truth; Thy word is truth. 18

world.
John 18:36 36

Romans 12:2 2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which
is good and acceptable and perfect.
1 Corinthians 1:20-21 20 Where is the wise man? Where is
the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the
wisdom of the world? 21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was
well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who
believe.
1 Corinthians 1:27-28 27 but God has chosen the foolish
things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak
things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 28 and the base things of
the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not,
that He might nullify the things that are,
1 Corinthians 3:19-20 19 For the wisdom of this world
is foolishness before God. For it is written, "He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness"; 20 and again, "The Lord knows
the reasonings of the wise, that they are
useless."
1 Corinthians 4:13 13 when we are slandered, we try to
conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things,
even until now.
♣1 Corinthians 5:10 10 I did not at all mean with the
immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers,
or with idolaters; for then you would have to go out of the world.
1 Corinthians 7:31-34 31 and those who use the world, as
though they did not make full use of it; for the form of this world is
passing away. 32 But I
want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the
things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;
33 but one who is married is concerned about the things of
the world, how he may please his wife, 34
and his interests are divided. And
the woman who is unmarried, and the virgin, is concerned about the things of
the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but one who is married
is concerned about the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
1 Corinthians 11:32 32 But when we are judged, we are
disciplined by the Lord in order that we may not be condemned along with the

should boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the
world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now
working in the sons of disobedience.
Ephesians 2:12 12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded
from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having
no hope and without God in the world.
Philippians 2:15 15 that you may prove yourselves to
be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked
and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,
Colossians 2:8 8 See to it that no one takes you
captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition
of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than
according to Christ.
Colossians 2:20-23 20 If you have died with Christ
to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in
the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 21 "Do not handle, do not
taste, do not touch!" 22
(which all refer to things destined
to perish with the using)-- in accordance with the commandments and teachings
of men? 23 These are matters
which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and
self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence. (The
spiritually subjective respond to God-consciousness with religion / paganism /
animism / polytheism / mysticism / etc.)
1 Timothy 1:15 15 It is a trustworthy statement,
deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners,
among whom I am foremost of all.

enjoy.

are speaking. (Stop and ponder the

things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his
household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the
righteousness which is according to faith.
Hebrews 11:38 38
(men of whom the world was not
worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground.
James 1:27 27
This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the
world.
James 4:4 4
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is
hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the
world makes himself an enemy of God.
1 Peter 5:8-10 8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about
like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
9 But resist him, firm in your
faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being
accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 10 And after you have suffered for
a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in
Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

world by lust.
2 Peter 2:5 5
and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of
righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the
ungodly;
2 Peter 2:20 20
For if after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the
knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them
and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.
1 John 2:1-2 1
My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And
if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous; 2 and He Himself
is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
1 John 5:19 19

Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, matters of this
life?
1 John 5:4-5 4 For
whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has
overcome the world-- our faith. 5
