Biblical Concept: Messiah in Zechariah

Introduction: Zechariah, the prophet, wrote more statements about the future Messiah than any other Old Testament book--except Isaiah.  Zechariah wrote in the early 500’s BC.  The Hebrew people had returned from Babylonian captivity and received encouragement from Zechariah to complete rebuilding the Temple, and their Jewish lives, before arrival of the Messiah.  Israel’s role in a Messiah for the world was an encouragement for a struggling nation.
