Biblical Concept: Lamb

Lambs: God’s teaching tool for angels and humans to understand: sin, sacrifice, blood, death, and Divine   

    satisfaction.  In no uncertain terms: God is opposed to sin.  Millions of sacrificed lambs so demonstrate.

Lamb: Unblemished sin offering relationship.  To unsure the lamb was worthy of sacrifice, it was given

     special care like a pet—and then sacrificed.  God is opposed to sin!

NAS Genesis 22:7 And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"

 8 And Abraham said, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together.

NAS Exodus 12:3 "Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth of this month they are each one to take a lamb for themselves, according to their fathers' households, a lamb for each household.

 4 'Now if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his neighbor nearest to his house are to take one according to the number of persons in them; according to what each man should eat, you are to divide the lamb.

 35 'Then he shall remove all its fat, just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offerings, and the priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar, on the offerings by fire to the LORD. NAS Leviticus 5:6 'He shall also bring his guilt offering to the LORD for his sin which he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement on his behalf for his sin. (Lamb, death, and sin relationship.)

 7 'But if he cannot afford a lamb, then he shall bring to the LORD his guilt offering for that in which he has sinned, two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. Lambs

NAS Genesis 21:28 Then Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.

 29 And Abimelech said to Abraham, "What do these seven ewe lambs mean, which you have set by themselves?"

 30 And he said, "You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand in order that it may be a witness to me, that I dug this well."

NAS Genesis 30:32 let me pass through your entire flock today, removing from there every speckled and spotted sheep, and every black one among the lambs, and the spotted and speckled among the goats; and such shall be my wages.

 33 "So my honesty will answer for me later, when you come concerning my wages. Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats and black among the lambs, if found with me, will be considered stolen."

 40 And Jacob separated the lambs, and made the flocks face toward the striped and all the black in the flock of Laban; and he put his own herds apart, and did not put them with Laban's flock.

 83 and for the sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Ahira the son of Enan.

 87 all the oxen for the burnt offering twelve bulls, all the rams twelve, the male lambs one year old with their grain offering twelve, and the male goats for a sin offering twelve;

 88 and all the oxen for the sacrifice of peace offerings 24 bulls, all the rams 60, the male goats 60, the male lambs one year old 60. This was the dedication offering for the altar after it was anointed.

NAS Numbers 15:11 'Thus it shall be done for each ox, or for each ram, or for each of the male lambs, or of the goats.
