Biblical Concept: Joy

 

Application: Joy reminds / encourages the Believer that, spiritually, in Christ, we have the ultimate

victory—as we live in the Angelic Conflict.  An Intellectual Spiritual Salvation Joy.  Very soul satisfying.

 

Observation:  There is emotional joy, intellectual joy, and spiritual joy.

 

Joy

 

NAS Genesis 31:27 "Why did you flee secretly and deceive me, and did not tell me, so that I might have sent you away with joy and with songs, with timbrel and with lyre;

 

♠NAS Deuteronomy 28:47 "Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things; (Cursing and Blessing Context) (Be sure to give thanks to God—much.)

 

NAS 1 Samuel 18:6 And it happened as they were coming, when David returned from killing the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy and with musical instruments. 

 

NAS 1 Kings 1:40 And all the people went up after him, and the people were playing on flutes and rejoicing with great joy, so that the earth shook at their noise. (Solomon becomes King.) (Joy and a Presidential election?)

 

NAS 1 Chronicles 12:40 Moreover those who were near to them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought food on donkeys, camels, mules, and on oxen, great quantities of flour cakes, fig cakes and bunches of raisins, wine, oil, oxen and sheep. There was joy indeed in Israel.

 

NAS 1 Chronicles 15:16 Then David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their relatives the singers, with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.

 

 25 So it was David, with the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-edom with joy.

 

NAS 1 Chronicles 16:27 Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and joy are in His place.

NAS 2 Chronicles 29:30 Moreover, King Hezekiah and the officials ordered the Levites to sing praises to the LORD with the words of David and Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with joy, and bowed down and worshiped.

 

NAS 2 Chronicles 30:21 And the sons of Israel present in Jerusalem celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great joy, and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day after day with loud instruments to the LORD.

 13 so that the people could not distinguish the sound of the shout of joy from the sound of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard far away.

 

NAS Ezra 6:16 And the sons of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
