Biblical Concept: I See Angels Now
Prologue:
As humans, given our four dimensional limitations, to be able to see angels would probably be terrifying, paralyzing. For example: 1 Chronicles 21:16 16 Then David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between earth and heaven, with his drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, covered with sackcloth, fell on their faces . . . 1 Chronicles 21:30 30 But David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was terrified by the sword of the angel of the LORD.
Occasionally, humans
unwittingly see angels: NAS Hebrews 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers,
for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. (I am not sure what the humans of
the Genesis 6 era knew about the angels they were having babies with? Did they even know they were angels? Angels have power to manipulate the 4du.)
During the time before
the completion of both Testaments of God’s word, a number of Biblical
individuals did have contact with angels.
For example: Luke 2:7-9 7 And she gave birth to her
first-born son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And in the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields, and keeping watch over
their flock by night. 9 And
an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord
shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. Revelation 22:8-9 8 And I, John, am the one who heard
and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the
feet of the angel who showed me these things.
9 And he said to me, "Do not do that; I am a fellow
servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the
words of this book; worship God."
_____
Here is when humans will begin to see angels, all the time
--Luke 16:22 "Now it
came about that the poor man died and he was carried away by the angels to
Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. When you die, the angels are going to
transport you to your eternal destiny. Fortunately for Believers in Jesus Christ, they
will be transported to Christ in heaven --Philippians 1:23 But I am
hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be
with Christ, for that is very much better;. (The underline is mine.)
Be prepared to see
the Angel Conflict first hand --Revelation
12:10 10
And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the
power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come,
for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them
before our God day and night. (The underline is mine.)
Given our
limitations compared to angels, it is good we will be taken to Christ and
seated with Him --Ephesians 2:4-7 4 But God, being rich in
mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our
transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been
saved), 6 and raised us up
with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus,
7 in order that in the ages to come He might show the
surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (The underline is mine.)
