are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before Him, 20 in whatever our heart condemns

supplication is made by any man or by
all Thy people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart, and
spreading his hands toward this house; 39
then hear Thou in heaven Thy dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to
each according to all his ways, whose heart Thou knowest,
for Thou alone dost know the hearts of all the sons of men, 40 that they may fear Thee all the

ordinances, 5 then I will

1 Kings 10:24 24 And
all the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God
had put in his heart.
1 Kings 11:2-10 2 from
the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the sons of Israel, "You
shall not associate with them, neither shall they associate with you, for they will surely turn your heart
away after their gods." Solomon held fast to these in love. 3 And he had seven hundred wives,
princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart
away. 4 For it came about
when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his
heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his
father had been. 5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth
the goddess of the Sidonians and after Milcom the detestable idol of the Ammonites. 6 And Solomon did what was evil in
the sight of the LORD, and did not follow the LORD fully, as David his father had done. 7 Then Solomon built a high place
for Chemosh the detestable idol of Moab, on the
mountain which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech
the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon. 8 Thus also he did for all his
foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. 9 Now the LORD was angry with
Solomon because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who
had appeared to him twice, 10
and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other
gods; but he did not observe what the LORD had commanded.
1 Kings 14:7-10 7
"Go, say to Jeroboam, 'Thus says the LORD God of Israel, "Because I
exalted you from among the people and made you leader over My people
Israel, 8 and tore the kingdom
away from the house of David and gave it to you-- yet you have not been like My
servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart,
to do only that which was right in My sight;
9 you also have done more evil than all who were before you,
and have gone and made for yourself other gods and molten images to provoke Me
to anger, and have cast Me behind your back--
10 therefore behold, I am bringing calamity on the house of
Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every male person, both bond and free
in Israel, and I will make a clean sweep of the house of Jeroboam, as one
sweeps away dung until it is all gone.
2 Kings 10:30 30 And
the LORD said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in executing what is
right in My eyes, and have done to
the house of Ahab according to all that was
in My heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of
Israel." (2 Kings 10:17-28 17 And when he came to Samaria, he
killed all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him,
according to the word of the LORD, which He spoke to Elijah. 18 Then Jehu gathered all the
people and said to them, "Ahab served Baal a little; Jehu will serve him
much. 19 "And now,
summon all the prophets of Baal, all his worshipers and all his priests; let no
one be missing, for I have a great sacrifice for Baal; whoever is missing shall
not live." But Jehu did it in cunning, in order that he might destroy the
worshipers of Baal. 20 And
Jehu said, "Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal." And they proclaimed
it.
21 Then Jehu sent throughout Israel and all the worshipers of
Baal came, so that there was not a man left who did not come. And when they
went into the house of Baal, the house of Baal was filled from one end to the
other. 22 And he said to the
one who was in charge of the
wardrobe, "Bring out garments for all the worshipers of Baal." So he
brought out garments for them. 23
And Jehu went into the house of Baal with Jehonadab
the son of Rechab; and he said to the worshipers of
Baal, "Search and see that there may be here with you none of the servants
of the LORD, but only the worshipers of Baal." 24 Then they went in to offer
sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had stationed for himself eighty men
outside, and he had said, "The one who permits any of the men whom I bring
into your hands to escape, shall give up his life in exchange." 25 Then it came about, as soon as
he had finished offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to
the royal officers, "Go in, kill them; let none come out." And they
killed them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the royal officers
threw them out, and went to the inner
room of the house of Baal. 26
And they brought out the sacred pillars
of the house of Baal, and burned them. 27
They also broke down the sacred pillar
of Baal and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine to this
day. 28 Thus Jehu eradicated
Baal out of Israel.)

1 Chronicles 29:17-19 17
"Since I know, O my God, that Thou triest the
heart and delightest in uprightness, I, in the
integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things; so now with joy I have seen Thy people, who are present
here, make their offerings willingly
to Thee. 18 "O LORD, the
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, preserve this forever in the
intentions of the heart of Thy people, and direct their heart to Thee; 19 "and give to my son
Solomon a perfect heart to keep Thy commandments, Thy testimonies, and Thy
statutes, and to do them all, and to
build the temple, for which I have made provision."

he said, "O LORD, the God of Israel, there is no god like Thee in heaven
