Biblical Concept: Guile

NAS Proverbs 26:26 Though
his hatred covers itself with guile, His wickedness will be revealed before
the assembly. (See the context of 26:17-28. )
NAS Isaiah 30:12 Therefore thus
says the Holy One of Israel, "Since you have rejected this word, And have
put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them, (Israel’s
rebellion toward God.)
NAS John 1:47 Jesus saw
Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in
whom is no guile!" (“Guile” = dolos* = “strictly bait for fish; hence deceit, treachery, fraud.”) (Jesus’ gross generalization concerning
Israelites: guiled.)

Therefore, putting aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisy and envy and
all slander,
