Biblical Concept: Grace and Jesus

NAS Luke 2:40 And the Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.  (Jesus the recipient of grace.)

 

NAS John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.  (Jesus = abundant grace.  See Biblical Concept: Grace Abundance.)

 

 16 For of His fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.  (Jesus = abundant grace.  For “grace upon grace,” see Biblical Concept: Grace.)

 

 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.  (The grace and truth of Jesus fulfilled the Law.  Note “given” versus “realized.”  See Galatians 2:21 below.)

 

NAS Acts 14:3 Therefore they spent a long time there speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting that signs and wonders be done by their hands.  (Jesus gives priority to the “word of His grace.”)

 

NAS Acts 15:11 "But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are."  (The salvation grace of Jesus.)

 

 40 But Paul chose Silas and departed, being committed by the brethren to the grace of the Lord.  (Be committed to the grace of Jesus.)

 

NAS Romans 5:15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.  (The inclusive salvation grace of Jesus.)

 

 17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.  (The abundant salvation grace of Jesus.)

 

21 that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  (The salvation grace of Jesus.)

NAS 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.  (Jesus = grace riches from heaven.  Remarkable.)

 

NAS 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.  (The grace of Jesus is sufficient, powerful.)

 

NAS 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.  (A grace closing from the Triune Jesus.)

 

NAS Galatians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ,  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

 6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;  (Do not desert the grace of Jesus.)

 

NAS Galatians 2:21 "I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."  (The grace of Jesus = righteousness apart from Law.)

 

NAS Galatians 5:4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.  (The grace of Jesus = righteousness apart from Law.)

 

NAS Galatians 6:18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.  (Good news: The grace of Jesus is with our spirit.)

 

NAS Ephesians 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.  (The grace of Jesus = praise and glory.)

 

 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,  (The grace of Jesus = salvation riches.)

 

NAS Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),  [The grace of Jesus made us eternally alive.]

 

 7 in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  (Jesus’ grace is eternal.  “Surpassing riches” = Biblical Concept: Grace Abundance.)

 

 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;  (Grace + nonmeritorious faith in Jesus = the gift of eternal salvation.)

 

NAS Ephesians 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.  (Gifts for serving come from Jesus’ grace.)

 

NAS Philippians 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

NAS Philippians 4:23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.  (A grace closing from Jesus.)

 

NAS Colossians 1:6 which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth;  (The grace of Jesus is abundant.  See Biblical Concept: Grace Abundance.)

NAS 2 Thessalonians 2:16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,  (The grace of Jesus = comfort and hope.)

 

NAS 2 Thessalonians 3:18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.  (A grace closing from Jesus.) 

 

NAS 1 Timothy 1:2 to Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

 14 and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.  (See Biblical Concept: Grace Abundance.)

 

NAS 2 Timothy 1:2 to Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

 9 who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,  (The grace of Jesus = an eternal salvation purpose.)

 

NAS 2 Timothy 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  (Be volitionally strong in Jesus’ grace.)

 

NAS Titus 1:4 to Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

NAS Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,  (The saving grace of Jesus is inclusive.) 

 

NAS Titus 3:7 that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  (Jesus’ grace eternally spiritually justifies.)

 

 

NAS Philemon 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.) 

 

 25 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.  (A grace closing from Jesus.)

 

NAS Hebrews 2:9 But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.  (Grace meant death for Jesus.)

 

NAS Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.  (See 14-16.  The royal grace of Jesus = help.)

 

NAS 1 Peter 1:10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful search and inquiry, . . . 13 Therefore, gird your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.  (Jesus’ first and second advents = grace.)

 

NAS 2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

NAS 2 Peter 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.  (Jesus’ grace = growth and glory.)

 

NAS 2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)

 

NAS Jude 1:4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.  (The grace of Jesus is not theologically licentious.)

 

NAS Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne;  (A grace greeting from Jesus.)
