Biblical Concept: God, Perfect

 

(Explanatory parentheses are mine)

 

NAS Leviticus 22:21 'And when a man offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD to fulfill a special vow, or for a freewill offering, of the herd or of the flock, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.  (God requires perfect offerings.  This is a big problem for religious man.)

 

NAS Deuteronomy 32:4 "The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.  (God is perfect.  Are your religious attempts to please God perfect?  Do not operate under the delusion of lowering God.  Theorem: Perfect God + lowering God = the biggest mistake of all time--Angels or humans.)  (The Angelic Conflict is the process of eternally reconciling / satisfying the Perfect God with sinful volitional creatures.  This is a problem greatly underestimated by volitional creatures.)

 

NAS Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.  (God’s Word is perfect.  Study it.)

 

NAS Isaiah 25:1 O lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; For Thou hast worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.  (God’s plan is perfect.  Do you think so?)

 

NAS Isaiah 26:3 "The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in Thee.  (Divine perfection overflow.)  (Note a peace and trust relationship.)

 

NAS Matthew 5:48 "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.  (Do not lower your religious obligations.)

 

NAS Acts 3:16 "And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.  (God’s gift of healing is instantaneous and perfect.)

 

NAS Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.  (God’s will is perfect.  Do you agree?)

 

NAS Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.  (God has a perfect plan for us.  Do you believe it?)

 

NAS Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

 15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS Colossians 3:14 And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS 1 Timothy 1:16 And yet for this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.  (Fortunately, God’s eternal salvation patience is perfect.  See the context.)

 

NAS Hebrews 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.  (The humanity of Jesus Christ was perfected through sufferings.  We too.) 

NAS Hebrews 5:9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,  (The humanity of Jesus Christ was perfected through sufferings.  We too.)

 

NAS Hebrews 7:28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.  (Jesus Christ is the Superior Son High Priest, perfect.  Jesus Christ is the only religion.)

 

NAS Hebrews 9:9 which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience,  (Worshipping God requires a perfect conscience.  Do not dumb down your perfect religious conscience.)

 

NAS Hebrews 10:1 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never by the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.  (Drawing near to God requires perfection.  Do not dumb-Christ-down.  See next. )

 

NAS Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.  (Christ = the only and perfect religion.)

 

NAS Hebrews 11:40 because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect.  (Christ = the only and perfect religion.)

 

NAS Hebrews 12:23 to the general assembly and church of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,  (Christ = the only and perfect religion.)

 

NAS James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

 17 Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

 25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does.  (Divine perfection overflow--the relationship between perfect law and blessing.)

 

NAS 1 Peter 5:10 And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.  (Divine perfection overflow: “will Himself perfect.”)

 

NAS John 17:23 I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them, even as Thou didst love Me.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.  (Spiritual power is unique: “perfected in weakness.”) 

 

NAS Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?  (God’s Spirit perfects, not religion.)

 

NAS 1 John 2:5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:  (Divine perfection overflow through God’s Word.)

 

NAS 1 John 4:12 No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Jesus Christ = the Perfecter of faith.)

 

NAS 2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS Psalm 50:2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth.  (Divine perfection overflow.)

 

NAS Ezekiel 28:12 "Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord God, "You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.  (Divine perfection overflow can lead to deception--not God’s fault.)
