Biblical Concept:  God, Religion Wearies

(The parentheses are mine)

(Religion = “Sacred rites or practices.”)

NAS Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, "How have we wearied Him?" In that you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?"  Compare Ecclesiastes 5:1-7.  (God is love wearies God.) (Complaints about the patience of God weary God.  See Biblical Concept: Lowering God, point 3.)

NAS Isaiah 1:11 "What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?" Says the LORD. "I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams, And the fat of fed cattle. And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats. 12 "When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courts? 13 "Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies-- I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly. 14 "I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me. I am weary of bearing them.  Compare Hosea 6:4-7, Amos 5:21-27, Mica 6:6-8, Psalm 51:16-17, Matthew 6:7, and Mark 12:33.  (Your religion wearies God.)

NAS Isaiah 43:24 "You have bought Me no sweet cane with money, Neither have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices; Rather you have burdened Me with your sins, You have wearied Me with your iniquities.  Compare Isaiah 65:1-7.  (Have an attitude of improvement toward your sins.  Fear the volitional weariness of the Lord.)

NAS Jeremiah 15:6 "You who have forsaken Me," declares the LORD, "You keep going backward. So I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you; I am tired of relenting!  (Fear the volitional weariness of the Lord.)

NAS Jeremiah 6:9 Thus says the LORD of hosts, "They will thoroughly glean as the vine the remnant of Israel; Pass your hand again like a grape gatherer Over the branches." 10 To whom shall I speak and give warning, That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed, And they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the LORD has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it. 11 But I am full of the wrath of the LORD: I am weary with holding it in. "Pour it out on the children in the street, And on the gathering of young men together; For both husband and wife shall be taken, The aged and the very old. 12 "And their houses shall be turned over to others, Their fields and their wives together; For I will stretch out My hand Against the inhabitants of the land," declares the LORD.  (Fear the volitional weariness of the Lord.)

NAS Isaiah 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.  (Essence point of balance: Think volitionally weary.)
