Biblical Concept: God, Jealous

Summary: The myriad of world religions (various idolatry) is an affront to the Creator God of the Bible.  He is jealous / zealous as Creator.  Nations or persons who recognize the God of the Bible and neglect / reject Him are met with the jealous / zealous attribute of God.  God is jealous / zealous for the spiritual lives of His human creation—they can glorify Him in the Angelic Conflict.  The jealous / zealous nature of God will defend the Person and Work of Jesus Christ.  There is an important spiritual relationship between God’s jealousy and holiness—“I shall be jealous for My holy name.”  Jealous is an aspect of being a volitional Creature.  The God of the Bible has a perfect jealousy.  Think: From love to lake of fire.
