Forgive

NAS Genesis 50:17 'Thus you shall say to Joseph, "Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong."' And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

 

NAS Exodus 10:17 "Now therefore, please forgive my sin only this once, and make supplication to the LORD your God, that He would only remove this death from me." And they said, "We are witnesses."  23 "Now therefore, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel."  24 And the people said to Joshua, "We will serve the LORD our God and we will obey His voice."  25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.) NAS 2 Corinthians 2:7 so that on the contrary you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest somehow such a one be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. (Be ready to forgive.)

 26 'And all its fat he shall offer up in smoke on the altar as in the case of the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him in regard to his sin, and he shall be forgiven. (Sin offerings for forgiveness.)

NAS Luke 12:10 "And everyone who will speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him. (Purposeful rejection of the Triune God of the Bible = no possible forgiveness.)

 

NAS John 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained." Forgiveness

NAS Nehemiah 9:17 "And they refused to listen, And did not remember Thy wondrous deeds which Thou hadst performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But Thou art a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness; And Thou didst not forsake them.  (God, ready to forgive.)

 

NAS Psalm 130:4 But there is forgiveness with Thee, That Thou mayest be feared. (Psalm 130:3-5  3 If Thou, LORD, shouldst mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?  4 But there is forgiveness with Thee, That Thou mayest be feared.  5 I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.)

 

NAS Daniel 9:9 "To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him; (God, ready to forgive.)
