Note Job 38:1-7 / Angel observers to creation:  Coming from a heavenly Divine dimension of light: “hello darkness my old friend” does not apply.  As a matter of fact, the three-dimensional universe is dominated by huge swaths of super cold darkness, punctuated with points of light.  Cold and darkness were unknowns to angels.

Light, good, separated, darkness.

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. God already knows light is good.  Darkness is a new creation.  Light versus darkness is illustrative to volitional creatures: good versus evil.

Egypt darkness: “a darkness which may be felt.”
