Vocabulary observation: The NASB translation only contains seven verses with content in them.

NAS Proverbs 6:35 He will not accept any ransom, Nor will he be content though you give many gifts. (Jealousy content conflict.) (Proverbs 6:34   34 For jealousy enrages a man, And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.)

 

NAS Luke 3:14 And some soldiers were questioning him, saying, "And what about us, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages." (Content force conflict.)

 

NAS 2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. (Unique spiritual contentment.)

 

NAS Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. (Unique spiritual contentment.)

 

NAS 1 Timothy 6:8 And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. (1 Timothy 6:9-11   9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.  10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang.  11 But flee from these things, you man of God; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.) NAS Hebrews 13:5 Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you," (Hebrews 13:6   6 so that we confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?") (Spiritual contentment versus worldly desires.)  (The relationship between contentment and Divine help/concern.)

 

NAS 1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment.
